There has been no appreciable rain on the park since March and the whole area is getting very dry and parched off.
The trees are responding to the drought conditions not necessarily by losing their leaves but by shedding their seeds. The Hornbeam trees in the northwest corner have all dropped their seeds as have the lime trees in Lime Walk.

The area of the chalk slope is also very dry but there are two plants on flower which are obviously to a certain extent drought resistant- They are the Burnet Saxifrage and Stemless Thistle which always seem to be late flowering at this time of year.
